Once upon a time there was a girl named June, she lived in Liepāja that is regarded as a capital of rock music of Latvia, so she was listening to REAL rock music, studied art and was not aware what will happen with her just around the corner. Strangely enough she could imgine herself singing country music when she will be old and gray. Then a miracle happened, as June first heard Leann Rimes record and was so-to-say hit over the head with a hammer. Her willing to sing country music became very strong as she grew more and more, utterly and totally unexpectedly addicted to it. June started to seek opportunities to sing exactly this type of music she adored so much, and finally found herself a band in the other side of the country with whom she performed last two years in „Bauska Country Fest”, occassionally performing with other bands and singers as well.
June Hill’s biggest wish is to bring the audience to America of the 50’s, to sing classic country music, hillbilly and rockabilly. Among her biggest influences are Patsy Cline, Elvis Presley, Hank Williams, Janis Martin, Wanda Jackson, Rose Maddox, Brenda Lee, Patsy Montana and of course, Dolly Parton as well.
